In a long leadup to commencing MTeach at Monash University, I invested considerable time and financial resources into discovering the right career.

I had considered teaching since I was 18 years old but it seemed life had over 10 years of lessons for me to learn first.  

​

And now, here I am!

A country girl at heart, I was born and raised in the Yarra Valley region 50km east of Melbourne.  My parents Pam and Milton Thrift, both educators, valued diverse opportunities for their two children. Over the years, I developed skills and abilities in horse riding, calisthenics, taekwondo, athletics, softball, soccer, music and singing.  

 

Achievements of my school years include:

• regional representation in sports and performing arts

• community involvement in aged care through music programs

• academic achievements in maths and theatre.

• Captain of Softball

Throughout my adult life I continued to pursue diverse experiences on the quest to become the well-rounded individual I am today:

• Premier League soccer goalkeeper

• Bachelor of Exercise Sport Science (Psychology major)

• IB School Language Teacher: EtonHouse International School, China.

• Personal Carer for Australian Paralympic Athletics in France & Qatar.

• Track cyclist

• Rock climber

• Outdoor leader
