'Miss Thrift'

WELCOME

Miss Thrift Online began as a dedicated platform for sharing teaching and learning resources during my teacher education days. Initially created to showcase the health education websites developed by my peers and myself during the first semester of our master's program at Monash University.

As of 2025, I am now using it as a platform to share my experience as an AuDHD educator.

On the 27-28th of March, I had the privilege of attending the 2025 Australian Inclusive Schooling Conference, an invaluable experience for anyone passionate about inclusive education. This conference brought together both Australian and international leaders in the field to share groundbreaking research, innovative approaches, and strategies for engaging students with disabilities.

The event not only deepened my understanding of inclusive education but also inspired me to think more broadly about the potential of students with disabilities. It was an incredible opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals who are equally committed to ensuring that all students have access to high-quality, inclusive education. I'm excited to carry forward the insights and inspiration from the conference into my work, always striving to create better outcomes for every student.

Mission Statement

Educational settings, working with young people, and physical pursuits have permeated my life for as long as I can remember.

With the Victorian Curriculum being rolled out in 2017, the purpose for this page was to share resources that were carefully developed by pre-service teachers for the collective benefit of colleagues at Monash University and beyond.

I was motivated by an observation of individualistic attitude that exists and thrives within some areas of our Australian society. Through scrutinising my belief that I had to be a fully 'independent woman' I have come to embrace the power of collaboration.

In terms of relationships with peers at university, numerous times I've heard it said "these are the people you will be competing with for jobs".  And while this might be true, it does nothing to encourage a collective spirit in the pursuit of our shared purpose as educators.

Nine years down the road and I still feel as strongly as ever about life-long learning and professional collaboration.
